Nkenge is a Certified Financial Education Instructor with more than 25 years of experience in accounting, auditing, compliance, and financial management.  A proud Baltimore native and graduate of Morgan State University, she has a passion for empowering young people and equipping them with the financial mindset, confidence and tools needed to build wealth.

Eban Financial Wellness leads with love and vulnerability.  Through workshops, I create a space where students feel seen and safe, learning not just how money works, but the mindfulness tools that turn knowledge into changed behavior and real financial wellness.

Know Your Money

Eban Financial Wellness was born out of my own journey with money.  I thought I understood how it worked, until I realized I didn't.  I took the budgeting workshops my employer offered, learned the "what" and the "how", yet kept landing back on same hamster wheel: paycheck to paycheck, high credit card debt, no real progress.

The more I looked around: research, the news, my own community, the clearer it became this wasn't just my struggle.  It was ours and I couldn't stop asking: how do we finally break this cycle for good?

Grow Your Money Mindset

I curated a social media feed of creators focused on positive mindset, changing behavior, and building wealth, and listened to podcasts along the same lines.  I did the internal work too - changing the negative thoughts I held about myself around money and added mindfulness practices like meditation, yoga and affirmations.

With this new knowledge, the focus shifted, not just my budget spreadsheet, but my thoughts, patterns, and behaviors. This time it wasn't from a victim space, but from empowerment. My problem wasn't that I was reckless or undisciplined with money.

I didn't just build a spreadsheet; I tracked it comparing budget to actuals. applying my professional training to my own life.  I automated recurring expenses and savings.  And my husband and I both drove Uber to bring in extra income, because life kept happening regardless.

Own Your Financial Future

Eban Financial Wellness was created from a vision: as many teenagers and young adults as possible learning financial literacy in a way that empowers them to take action and build habits that lead to real financial wellness.

My journey: the challenges with money and with self-worth, was leading me to my purpose all along.  I got the lessons late, but I want my story to be the catalyst for young people to start early.

As personal as this is, financial wellness affects the whole community and eco-system we live in. One student, one workshop at a time, we can change the narrative from victims to champions.

Financial Wellness. Period.
